I bet the servers are just offline.

in fact, that would have to be the case since eplaya and Burningman domain names are 2 diffrent registars.They use the same servers for both. (which makes no sense.)

ok ok ... just stoooop all yer speculating ... here's what happened:

our mailserver (which admittedly sucks, and was already slated to be replaced this coming week) went down, and so when godaddy, our hosting service, pinged our administrative email address, it bounced. so they followed their ICANN regulations which say you can't have invalid contact information in your whois. so they automatically put our dns on hold, and here we are. now we're just waiting for them to pull their heads out of their proverbial butts and put us back in good standing.

no, we didn't forget to pay our bill. no, the domain wasn't up for grabs. no, we're not stupid.

and harriet ... darling ... you know i love you ... it's not that we don't CARE or think about this tribe or the eplaya, it's just not on the top of our minds to come here to calm people who may be freaking out. during ticket hell, sure. but this is a sunday in april, yo! i know i know ... of course it's important ... we had 5 people working on it for hours today trying to figure out wtf godaddy did, as soon as we saw it was down. my bad for not thinking of coming here ... next time i promise i will.

and unfortunately, you can't get to burningman.com via IP address ... we have a subdomain (911.burningman.com) that takes alphabetical precedence when you hit the IP directly, which happens to be 209.237.226.73. you can paypal me the 10 bucks. ;-)

anyway, as soon as godaddy's done dicking around, we'll be up and running again, there will be much rejoicing, and the Man will burn.
